Donatello Crocetta, MD MBA, is the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Medical Communities at UCB. He holds an Executive MBA from Alma Master Business School and a certification from IMD Business School’s High-Performance Board Program. With over 24 years of healthcare experience and a background as a physician, Dr. Crocetta has dedicated his career to improving patients’ lives.
In his current role as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Crocetta fosters clinical and medical strategy and oversees the risk-benefit profile of the entire portfolio. As a core member of UCB’s early development governance committees, he is involved in the technical review and validation of interim and topline results of proof of concept and early clinical studies. He also leads Medical Affairs at UCB, driving therapeutic area strategy, evidence generation, scientific communication and managed access programs. Dr. Crocetta collaborates closely with regulatory bodies, scientific societies, and patient organizations, focusing on listening to patients and delivering innovative solutions.
He is committed to transforming outcomes for patients living with immunological, neurological, and rare diseases, elevating the standard of care, and driving equitable access through innovative science and trusted partnerships across UCB and with medical communities worldwide.
